It’s back again! Local London Guided Day
I am proud to be involved with this years Local London Guided Day on Saturday 11 October. This year’s theme is the Georgians, a particular favourite of mine. Four guiding associations are working together to deliver free guided walks in their specialist areas: Clerkenwell & Islington, City of London, Westminster and Greenwich.
Walks start at 10am and repeat on the hour with the last one at 4pm. Each walk will last no longer than an hour which means you could realistically do all four free walks! There will be a voluntary collection for the Royal British Legion at the end of each walk. No need to book, just turn up!

Clerkenwell & Islington
Bad, Sad,…and Mad!: A fascinating walk through the Georgian streets and squares of Islington exploring the world of the Four Georges.
Meet: Angel station (Northern line)
Not wheelchair accessible
Greenwich
Inheritance, Indulgence and Infighting: Explore England’s Hanoverian monarchs and their dysfunctional families amid more grand Georgian architecture than you can shake your powdered periwig at.
Meet: Cutty Sark DLR station
City of London
Georgian Life in the City: Learn about the daily life in the City, see buildings from the time, hear stories of those who lived and made their mark while a George was on the throne.
Meet: Bank Station, exit 3, Royal Exchange (Northern, Central, Circle & District, Waterloo & City and DLR line)
Westminster
Through a fanlight darkly: Sometimes the most secret places are closest to the busiest street. Explore one of such areas and meet its Georgian inhabitants.
Meet: Charing Cross station on forecourt in front of hotel (Bakerloo and Northern lines)
