The Roman wall at Tower Hill: Stand beside one of Londinium’s most dramatic surviving defences and discover what it reveals about a city once facing threat and uncertainty.
The forum and basilica at Leadenhall: Picture the commercial and administrative heart of Roman London, where merchants traded and public business was conducted on an extraordinary scale.
Roman curses and personal messages: Discover how inscribed objects and writing from Roman London offer rare, human glimpses of grievances, anxieties and everyday relationships nearly two thousand years ago.
Evidence of the Roman waterfront: See how archaeology has transformed our understanding of Londinium as a busy riverside port, connected to the wider Roman world by trade and travel.
Hidden traces in the modern City: Spot smaller, easily missed fragments that reveal how Roman streets, buildings and boundaries still shape the Square Mile beneath your feet.
Guildhall’s Roman amphitheatre: Finish above the outline of the arena where Londoners once watched public spectacles, bringing home the ambition and scale of Roman Londinium.

Roman London Walk Reviews
Stephen
Excellent walk and guide, Jenny. Clear diction, no microphone needed for those like me with some hearing loss. Jenny was very considerate about the heat and sun, 31C , and ensured we were in the shade. She was very knowleageable on the Romans and able to answer every question. We gained an excellent picture of Roman London. Strongly recommended.

A very interesting walk. Not much remains of Roman London, but our guide had wormed out that which does. In between the sites his talk was very comprehensive. He is an excellent guide and obviously very
knowledgeable about the Roman period and literature. One of the best London walks.
Elaine and Jeremy
An excellent talk and walk, discovering Roman London on the way. Information aplenty that was delivered instopping points along the way, that linked to previous talks…and historical references. With the sun shining down, it was a specially memorable event.

Ian knows almost all there is to know about Roman London – and we had Hazel too as an equally knowledgeable backup. Interesting and enjoyable – and a beautiful day – thank you.

An excellent walk and talk, to discover Roman London, under our feet, above our heads, and the accompanying history

The Guide , Ian was very knowledgeable and interesting. Learnt a lot more about the roman city and of sites to visit. Such as the baths and amphitheatre under the Guildhall. Have also been on a number of their other walks and highly recommend all .

This is a company which is not touristic. The company specialises in the quality of the guides whose depth of
information is more academic than touristic. Concentrating on historical evidence. Interspersed with amusing anecdotes, Ian’s tour was full of invaluable information. Totally recommend Roman London and look forward to another walking tour.
