City of Westminster Tour Guide

City of Westminster Guide

Originally from Rutland, England’s smallest county I studied Hotel & Catering which firstly took me to Oxford, where I was fortunate enough to work in the famous Randolph Hotel which welcomed celebrities of the stage and screen as well as political leaders. I still have a photo of me with an ex-president of the USA. You’ll have to guess which one.

My career then brought me to London, with a commute that took me past the Tower of London which ignited my interest in history.

I qualified as a City of Westminster guide in 2018 and now I combine the element of hospitality, with the many stories that attract visitors to this great city.

This was an excellent informed and thoughtful tour of Belgravia’s places and good and bad persons. I really appreciated the research and historical information and variety of social as well as political references. Very interesting pub histories and a great way to spend Sunday morning.

Great chance to explore an area I rarely go to. From the rich squares to the story of the mews we were given a “rich” history. Increased my love of London.

I really enjoyed this walk as Belgravia is not an area I am familiar with. Learnt a lot about origins of area and saw some cute little pubs. I went myself and people were friendly. Would recommend tours by this company and to learn more about London.

This was a very enjoyable walk despite the rain! I got to learn a few anecdotes about life in London in the past two centuries. Never new about the origin of the mews:)! Lovely experience to take home. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed this walk, despite the inclement weather. Mark was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the area and its inhabitants. He was thorough and very well informed on different topics about the places in the area. The tour wasn’t rushed, even though we covered a lot of the area. He was really good and we would very much like to see him again doing a tour of a different area of London, perhaps.

We really enjoyed this walk despite the rain showers. Our guide (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) was excellent. Lots of very interesting information about the history of the area, the people who have lived there and events that have happened there. The pace of the walk was good and the size of the group was very manageable. It was possible to hear everything that was said by the guide which is always a plus. All in all an excellent and informative walk around an undiscovered area of London.

Fabulous tour, guide very well informed with constant facts and stories for us to digest. As a Londoner, it is wonderful to learn more about our great city and see new cut-throughs and gems that we have. I have more of these tours to do and look forward to any more that I can attend. Even in the rain, it was marvellous.

An excellent guided walk. The guide was very knowledgeable and demonstrated his talks with large good quality images from a file he carried. He didn’t use any notes and was able to answer any questions. I learned a lot from this walk and highly recommend it.
