Hello! My name is Maria, I’m a City of London tour guide, and I love showing people everything I wish I had been shown when I first moved to this endlessly fascinating city, and everything I’ve been discovering since. London is a neverending source of stories and mysteries, and I find that my excitement about it increases with every walk and every piece of information I discover in my
journey as a guide.
My background is in performing arts and languages, which means I am particularly keen on “translating” this eclectic and sometimes puzzling place to visitors from abroad, as well as putting it into an international perspective for people who have lived or worked here for years.
I am passionate and curious about history in particular, which is why I love discovering places in London connected to specific eras and events – and there are myriads of those to be found! Another aspect I like to explore as a guide is how London features in pop culture and well-known films and TV series. I enjoy addressing some of the areas in which popular media portrays London and its history, what it gets right and what it gets wrong, and which stories are more likely to stay with us and why.
Above all, I get the most satisfaction out of my work when visitors have had a great experience on my tours, so I strive to adapt to my group, cater to individual needs, and form a genuine connection with fellow explorers!

Maria was an informative and engaging guide, who led a small group of us around Mayfair. We explored some lesser known corners and side streets whilst admiring the Christmas lights on the designer stores and luxury hotels. There were some interesting landmarks and historical stories including a few that I would like to go back to explore further. We were fortunate that it was a mild and dry December evening and Maria was skilled in finding quiet spots to explain what we were seeing.
