Open House this weekend

Open House weekend is here again!

This is often your one opportunity in a year to gain access to some of London’s amazing buildings for free!
With over 800 buildings, walks and architects’s talks, this weekend is a real treat for any lover of London.

With so much choice how do you choose what to see? Well, I would suggest you focus on where you really want to see within a small area.

Southwark

City Hall – office of Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, the GLA and London Assembly

London Fire Brigade Museum – Georgian

Clerkenwell

Museum of the Order of St John

New River Head – this pre book only – if you haven’t booked then read about the New River Head here

Whitehall

26 Whitehall and Admiralty House – this 1725 building has been used to determine the strategy and the tactics of the Royal Navy since its first occupation.

Banqueting House – built in 1619, look up at the ceiling!

Foreign & Commonwealth Office – see Victorian grandeur including the Durbar Hall

The City

Apothecaries’ Hall – 17th century livery hall. Come along to our Best of Blackfriars walk to learn more.

‘Unilever’ House – Both old and new

Make sure you are prepared for all weathers and queues (I have a few snacks and a bottle of water in my handbag to carry me through the day). What ever you choose to visit I hope you enjoy it!
